Late Summer Buyer's Guide: A Day in My Life
From the mask I wake up in to the magnesium I fall asleep with
Instead of just listing out what I’m loving this summer, I wanted to walk you through an actual day in my life and the things that are part of it, start to finish. Two of these are paid partnerships but I use the products myself — I’ve tagged each one clearly right where it comes up, so you always know what’s what.
Morning: the mask comes off - Manta Sleep (Partner)
The first thing I do every morning is take off my Manta Sleep Mask Pro and gently wake my kid up. I use the mask myself, partnership or not. I raved about it recently and how I originally backed them on kickstarter many years ago. It’s become such a non-negotiable part of how I sleep that it felt right to open with it instead of burying it at the bottom.
Flask, filled - Owala 40 oz FreeSip + ATH Electrolytes
Next up: I fill my Owala flask with water and ice, drop in an ATH Electrolytes packet, and shake it up. I love the straw functionality of the flask and the fact that the electrolytes don’t have any processed sugars.
Matcha ritual - the bowl + whisk
While the kettle’s going, I’m doing my matcha routine with my bowl and whisk — steaming milk, adding a mushroom tincture, MCT oil, collagen powder and a dash of cinnamon. Then drinking it once it’s ready, always slowly and doing my best to be present. No phones until after school drop off is a general rule of mine.
Breakfast, pack lunch, getting kiddo dressed
Make my kiddo breakfast, pack his lunch, get him ready for school and then I hop in the shower.
Shower routine: HiBAR Deodorant
After my shower I reach for HiBAR deodorant — it’s clean, no chemicals I can’t pronounce, and it’s been working for me.
Post-shower: OneSkin OS-01 Body (Partner)
I use this myself daily, partnership or not — the OS-01 BODY topical supplement is part of my post-shower routine. It feels thick but not greasy which I find is rare in creams and lotions. I’ve noticed my skin has been softer since I started using it, especially helpful during the summer month of sweat, beach, chlorine and sun exposure.
Drop off then work
Now one of the best parts of my day, a 15-minute walk with my kid, listening to his stories, I always ask him if he had any dreams and he describes them to me in great detail. These are the moments that I’ll remember fondly, forever. Once he’s dropped off I head home and start working around 9am or so.
Midday workout
I go for a workout around lunchtime — I typically wear Tracksmith shoes for this.
Afternoon slump: NOON Focus Daily Mushroom Gummy
Come home, get changed, and if I’m hitting the afternoon slump I’ll take a focus gummy — it’s been genuinely good for getting my energy and focus back for the rest of the day.
Pick up, then evening: CALM Magnesium
Pick up my boy, cook dinner, eat and discuss our day and then in the evening I wind down with a magnesium product before bed — CALM has been my go-to lately, and honestly any reputable magnesium sleep product has helped. I also have a second shower once my boy is fast asleep. I’ve found that a mid-temp shower before bed helps me sleep much better.
Bonus, not a product but part of the ritual: some nights I’ll also make a warm drink with apple cider vinegar, honey, and ashwagandha.

I Backed This Mask on Kickstarter a Decade Ago. It Just Knocked My Six-Year-Old Out Over the Atlantic.
A few days ago, my son and I flew to London. He’s six, window seat, running a nonstop interrogation about clouds and turbulence — until just after 9pm, somewhere over the Atlantic, when he pulled on his sleep mask and leaned into my shoulder. He was out in minutes.
